Stand By Me Lesvos

Opportunity for pre-school age kids

Does this look like a regular childhood to you? Unfortunately, it’s not. The Kara Tepe camp in Lesvos hosts today almost three thousand people fleeing from the threats of a government and a lifestyle that don’t comply with their basic human rights. Among them, more than one third are children. Stand By Me Lesvos acts inside the camp with the purpose of giving them the opportunities they are missing now: a safe place to call home, education, recreation, fundamental values and the hope for something better waiting for them. What we do is offering them a Kindergarten space with classes and activities including music, dance, painting and chess. We are trying to improve the means we dispose of, to provide our spaces and our children something as much different as possible from a refugee camp. Their smile and the hope in their eyes are the best rewards for us – but we need now your help as well.

Be the change you want to see in the world.
