Following the Taliban’s recent takeover of Afghanistan, several of our Afghan partners are appealing to the international community for help on behalf of Afghans who are now silenced.
In contrast to what is currently possible in Afghanistan, the Moria Academia team is providing safe spaces for the Afghan community inside the new camp to gather together, discuss the current situation, further their cultural exchange and deepen their education.
Residents of all genders and ages are able to make music together, attend IT and language classes, as well as access a sewing workshop and kindergarten.
This self-organised educational initiative, independently run by and for refugees, is now tailoring English classes for 10-16 year olds in addition to those already run for older refugees. Similar to all classes offered in the camp, an Afghan refugee is responsible for teaching the students as well as encouraging each and every one to freely speak their mind.
