Our Academia reopened this morning following last weeks strike, we used to bring out our message and reorganize. (https://standbymelesvos.gr/…/statement-to-the-media-and-pub…)

Thank you for everyone supporting us! We also hope we gave a little bit of impact, because last week so many newspapers and other international media reported about the unbearable situation in Moria. Very positively they got the message that both the refugees and the islanders are the victims a failed European politics,

Despite the fluid and sometimes volatile situation today the classes were full and students were eager to get back to school. We had over 100 new women come to register for lessons; their classes were scheduled to start from tomorrow.

Unfortunately in the early afternoon the local authorities arrived to close the Academia.

We will have more information tomorrow on how we can proceed; we will make sure to keep all our friends and supporters updated. Please rest assured we are doing everything in our power to reopen the school, and continue to provide valuable education services to the women and children of Moria.
